Being environmentally conscious is one of our core values and as such we hold ourselves accountable.

Hello Zephyr is dedicated to organic growth. We are a small family business working to create durable and quality products produced ethically and sustainably at our home studio in the French Alps. Our suppliers’ partners are, like us, independent small companies.

To reduce our environmental footprint we have zero waste of polymer clay. We make an upscale use of this material, creating small amounts in a made-to-order system, avoiding overproduction. Our savoir-faire ensures the high-quality of our pieces, made to have a long life.

We are committed to limiting our environmental impact on a daily basis as well. Choosing lower impact materials and processes is key. The energy we use in our studio is 96% carbon-free. Our in-house recycling practices ensure less waste is transferred into landfills.

PACKAGING

Our packing is plastic-free. The jewelry boxes are made of 99% recycled boxboard meeting FSC standards. They come with carded wool to organically protect your jewelry.

Our business and postcards are made out of recycled t-shirts off-cuts and our stickers and tissues are acid-free, printed with soy ink - also FSC Certified.

Most of our shipping boxes for large orders are re-used card boxes we collect from local shops. For small orders, we use ocean-friendly,  biodegradable, and 100% recyclable postal boxes. You can look for the FSC and PEFC certifications printed on your box. They are all sealed with water-activated tape. Our invoices are printed on seed paper for orders in Europe and in recycled paper for the USA, respecting legislation.

METAL COMPONENTS

The titanium earrings pads and jump rings are manufactured in the USA.

The jump rings we use in some of the pieces are also silver-filled from a single mine origin meeting strict ethical, environmental and health, and safety standards. Our supplier has been audited and accredited to process Fairtrade Gold & Silver by FLOCERT. Their fairtrade number is 26139.

LOGISTICS CARBON OFFSET

Offsetting a carbon print is controversial. There is no better solution than reducing our footprint by cutting our emissions as much as we can, as fast as we can. Offsetting, to be effective, must go hand in hand with an ambitious internal reduction strategy. We are donating 2 times a year to the programs developed by the organization Tree Aid. They are not only planting forests but using trees to change lives and create a better environment in some of the poorest and driest regions of Africa. It’s an incredible project with environmental and social impacts.

For all orders shipped with DHL Express, we offset our greenhouse gas logistics emissions through investments in internationally recognized climate protection projects, like the Lesotho project. SOCIAL - GIVING BACK

We believe children and especially young girls are the force of change in our world. We are donating monthly 5% of our sales to MALALA Fund and Save The Children Organizations.

MALALA works to break down the barriers preventing more than 130 million girls around the world from going to school. SAVE THE CHILDREN impacted the lives of 134 million children at risk in the past year.
